Aztecs Women's Basketball bench scores 66 points in win over Park University JV

The No. 7 ranked Aztecs Women's Basketball team got 66 points from its bench in Saturday's 114-52 win over Park University JV as the Aztecs held their fifth annual Indigenous People's Game. Sophomore Cassie Coolidge scored 13 points while freshman Kahlia Gonzales added 12 points. The Pima Community College women's basketball team (7-2) was back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday to host its fifth annual Indigenous People's Game as it played Park University JV.

  • The No. 7 ranked Aztecs closed out the first quarter outscoring the Buccaneers 35-2 on their way to a 114-52 win.
  • The Aztecs held a 56-16 lead at halftime and helped put the contest away after scoring a game-high 36 points in the fourth quarter.
  • Sophomore Kiley Sours-Miller (Dream City Christian HS) scored a game-high 20 points on 10 for 15 shooting to go with eight rebounds and four assists. She scored 14 points in the first half.
  • Freshman Reigne Waugh went 7 for 9 from the field and closed out the game with 14 points as she also posted three rebounds, three steals and two assists.
  • The Pima bench scored a total of 66 points. Sophomore Cassie Coolidge (Sahuaro HS) led the way with 13 points as she was 6 for 8 from the field. She also had four rebounds and three assists. Freshman Kahlia Gonzales (Mesquite HS) netted 12 points on 4 for 7 shooting while sophomore Gabriella Sanchez (Tucson Magnet HS) finished with 10 points and four rebounds. She was 5 for 7 from the field.
  • The Aztecs shot 60 percent (51 for 85) from the field.

The Aztecs return to ACCAC conference play on Wednesday when they face off with South Mountain Community College in Phoenix. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
