Meredith Galus' defensive efforts earns ACCAC Division II Player of the Week

Sophomore defender Meredith Galus (Walden Grove HS) earned ACCAC Division II Player of the Week after she helped the Aztecs go 2-0, surrendering one goal and beating No. 8 Scottsdale Community College and shutting out Mesa Community College. The No. 1 seeded Aztecs Women's Soccer team will host No. 4 Glendale Community College on Thursday in the Region I, Division II Semifinals. Pima Community College women's soccer player Meredith Galus (Walden Grove HS) was instrumental in its defensive efforts during the week of Oct. 19-25.

Galus, a sophomore defender, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week. This is the sixth time a Pima player has been named ACCAC Division II Player/Goalkeeper of the Week this season.
Galus helped the Aztecs surrender just one goal for the week as they beat No. 8 Scottsdale Community College 2-1 and earn their sixth shutout win after downing Mesa Community College 2-0 to end the regular season.
She has played and started all 17 games in the backfield with one goal and one assist.

The Aztecs earned the No. 1 seed for the Region I Tournament for the first time since 2015 and the first time since moving to Division II in 2020. They will host No. 4 Glendale Community College on Thursday at the West Campus Aztec Field. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
