The Pima Community College women's soccer team (0-1-2, 0-0-1 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Saturday in a matchup between two NJCAA Division II nationally ranked teams.
- The No. 9 ranked Aztecs and No. 11 ranked Phoenix College played to a 1-1 tie at Hoy Stadium in Phoenix.
- Freshman Yajaira Cervantes (Tucson Magnet HS) put the Aztecs on the scoreboard and tied the game with her goal in the 68th minute.
- After a scoreless first half, the Bears (0-0-2, 0-0-1) got the board first after Amaya Hernandez's goal in the 57th minute.
- The Aztecs held the Bears to no shots on goal in the first half. Both teams finished with five for the game. Sophomore Phoebe Knisley (Canyon del Oro HS) closed out the game with four saves.
The Aztecs get back on the road on Tuesday when they play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in an ACCAC conference contest. Game time is set for 5:45 p.m.
