Aztecs Softball's Belen Camacho becomes program's 21st NJCAA All-American
Pima Community College Softball player Belen Camacho (Pueblo HS) received an honor from the NJCAA on Wednesday as the Division II All-American teams were released.
- Camacho, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, was named Third Team NJCAA Division II All-American.
- This is the fourth straight year the Aztecs have produced an NJCAA All-American. Arianna Flores (Salpointe Catholic HS) was named third team in 2025, Camila Zepeda (Tucson Magnet HS) earned second team honors in 2024, and Elise Munoz (Salpointe Catholic HS) was named to the second team in 2023.
- Camacho pitched 130.2 innings in 35 total appearances this season, finishing with a 17-4 record and a 2.89 ERA. She led the ACCAC conference with 166 strikeouts. She started nine games with six complete games.
- Camacho was named the ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-ACCAC/Region I. She earned NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 15-21 and was a three-time ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week this season.
- Camacho is the 21st NJCAA All-American to come out of the softball program and the fourth under coach Rebekah Quiroz. Previous Pima softball NJCAA All-Americans: Arianna Flores (2025), Camila Zepeda (2024), Elise Munoz (2023), Courtney Brown (2016), Alexis Dotson (2014), Yvette Alvarez (2013), Marina Contreras (2011), Kaity Ingram (2010), Jordan Trujillo (2010), Dana Alcocer (2007), Amanda Duran (2006), Lisa Parks (2004, 2005), Jennifer Martinez (2003), Rebekah Quiroz (2002), Sita Huerta (1993, 1994), Norma Natividad (1986), Diane Brown (1980), Wera Jacobs (1979).
- The Aztecs captured their third straight Region I Championship and made their third straight appearance at the NJCAA Division II World Series. They finished 48-10 overall and 36-6 in ACCAC conference play. The sophomore class of Camacho, Julissa Lopez (Tucson Magnet HS), Clarissa Figueroa (Mountain View HS), Sariah Ferrentino (Sabino HS), Jiselle Nunez (Tucson Magnet HS) and Amerika Lopez-Bedoy (Sunnyside HS) finished with a combined record of 101-19 over the last two years.
