Jiselle Nunez bats .700 to earn second nod as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week

Pima Community College softball player Jiselle Nunez (Tucson Magnet HS) continued her strong start to the season as she produced on offense during the week of Feb. 16-22.

Nunez, a freshman infielder, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the second time this season. She earned her first award for the week of Feb. 2-8.
Nunez batted .700 (7 for 10) in three games played with eight RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles, a home run and a stolen base as the Aztecs went 4-0 with wins over Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Eastern Arizona College.

The No. 5 ranked Aztecs split with No. 7 Phoenix College on Tuesday. Pima won the first game 10-2 snapping the Bears' 16-game winning streak. The Aztecs fell in the second game 4-3, having their 19-game winning streak snapped.

The Aztecs (19-1, 13-1 in ACCAC) are back in action on Tuesday when they host Mesa Community College in an ACCAC conference doubleheader at the West Campus Aztec Softball Field. First game starts at noon.
