Tayvien Biancuzzo takes fourth place in the 8K as Men's Cross Country finish third at ACCAC/Region I, Division I Championships

The Pima Community College men's cross country team competed at the ACCAC/Region I, Division I Championships on Friday held at Crossroads Park in Gilbert, AZ.

  • The No. 18 ranked Aztecs finished in third place with 52 points in the final team standings. Central Arizona College claimed first place with 26 points and the College of Southern Nevada took second with 42 points
  • Sophomore Tayvien Biancuzzo (Mica Mountain HS) finished the 8K race in fourth place with a time of 26:21.0. His PR time is 25:44.5 was set at the Highlander Invitational on Oct. 18.
  • Freshman Jose Hernandez (Rio Rico HS) closed out the race in seventh place at 26:32.3 while freshman Myles Oliver crossed the finish line in 12th place with a closing time of 27:16.7.
  • Sophomore Noah Brunet (Ironwood Ridge HS) took 14th place at 27:46.9 and freshman Alec Guerra (Nogales HS) earned a PR after he placed 15th at 27:50.0.
  • Biancuzzo, Hernandez, Oliver, Brunet and Guerra all earned All-Region I, Division I honors for finishing in the top 15.

The Aztecs will compete at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, IA.
