Noah Macias secures his second NJCAA qualifying time at PVCC Indoor Invitational

The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the PVCC Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.

  • Freshman Noah Macias (Mica Mountain HS) earned his second NJCAA Division I national qualifier as he took first place in the 600-meter race with a time of 1 minute, 20.19 seconds. He overtook the No. 2 spot in Pima Indoor school history. He is only behind Orion Barger, who set the standard at 1:18.10 back in 2023.
    Macias earned his first national qualifier last Saturday at the Al Shirley Indoor Invitational in the 1,000-meters race with a time of 2:30.55.
  • Freshman Andrew Smith claimed first place in the 3,000 meters as he crossed the finish line at 8:42.65. His time put him at the No. 4 spot in Pima Indoor all-time.
  • Sophomore Tayvien Biancuzzo (Mica Mountain HS) earned first place in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:33.20 and is now No. 7 in Pima Indoor school history.

The Aztecs will compete at the CAC Indoor Invitational next Saturday held at Central Arizona College in Coolidge, AZ.
