Romero Named NJCAA All-American, Make Pima Soccer History
Pima Community College men's soccer player Jason Romero added to his 2015 season accolades on Thursday as the NJCAA released its Division I All-American teams.
Romero, a sophomore forward, was named first-team All-American. He scored a Pima men's soccer record of 32 goals and had 12 assists on the year.
This is the third straight year the Aztecs have produced an NJCAA All-American. Romero is the 17th men's soccer All-American and the seventh in nine years for head coach David Cosgrove. Some of Pima's previous All-Americans were: Arturo Vega (2014), Alexis Medina (2013), Eric Glad (2011), Minh Vu (2010, 2009) and Fernando Gauna (2007).
Romero was named first-team All-Tournament for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. He was awarded the ACCAC Division I Player of the Year.
Romero has verbally committed to play at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
