Mason Hunt averages 24.3 points and shoots 77 percent from the field to earn ACCAC Player of the Week

Sophomore forward Mason Hunt (Bradshaw Mountain HS) was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week as he averaged 24.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.3 steals to help No. 7 ranked Aztecs Men's Basketball go 3-0 during the week of Nov. 16-22. Pima Community College men's basketball player Mason Hunt (Bradshaw Mountain HS) produced a strong week to help the Aztecs stay undefeated in the regular season.

  • Hunt, a sophomore forward, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week. He averaged 24.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.3 steals as the No. 7 ranked Aztecs picked up wins over Park University JV, Benedictine University Mesa JV and Justice University JV during the week of Nov. 16-22.
  • Hunt shot 77 percent from the field (28 for 36), 81 percent from three-point range (13 for 16) and 80 percent from the free throw line (4 for 5).
  • He has played and started in four games this season averaging 22.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.0 steals per game so far this season.

The Aztecs will open ACCAC conference play on Wednesday at Phoenix College. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
