Cohenj Gonzales averages 25 points and 6 assists, named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week
Pima Community College men's basketball player Cohenj Gonzales (Mesquite HS) put on a display as his efforts grabbed the attention of the ACCAC conference.
- Gonzales, a sophomore guard, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 1-7.
- Gonzales helped the Aztecs pick up wins over South Mountain and Glendale Community College. He averaged 25.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals. He shot 51 percent from the field and was 8 for 9 from the free throw line. His week included a 36-point effort in Saturday's win at Glendale.
- He has played and started six games this season, averaging 21.0 points (leads the ACCAC), 5.8 assists, 3.7 steals and 2.8 rebounds per game.
The No. 7 ranked Aztecs hit the road on Wednesday when they play at Mesa Community College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
