Aztecs volleyball finishes 2-2 at the NMMI Classic

The Pima Community College volleyball team (2-2) came away with an even record after Friday and Saturday's competition at the NMMI Classic in Roswell, NM.

  • The Aztecs, who play in NJCAA Division II, faced off against four Division I teams.
  • In Saturday's competition, the Aztecs tied the match at 1-1 but fell to host school New Mexico Military Institute in four sets 25-13, 27-29, 25-19, 25-14). They bounced back and won a tie-breaker to beat New Mexico Junior College 16-25, 25-22, 25-15, 22-25, 15-10.
  • In Friday's match-ups, the Aztecs lost to Odessa College in straight sets 25-15, 25-21, 25-12. Pima earned a straight set victory of their own defeating Hutchinson Community College 27-25, 25-21, 25-23.

*Sophomore Madi Nash (Sahuaro HS) was named to the NMMI All-Tournament team.

The Aztecs will open ACCAC conference play on Wednesday when they host Phoenix College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Match starts at 7:00 p.m.
