The Pima Community College softball team gained strength on both sides of the diamond as Kalynn Worthy signed her letter of intent to play for the Aztecs starting in 2021-22.
- Worthy, a catcher and utility player from Verrado High School in Buckeye, AZ, has played in 25 career games with a .446 batting average, 33 hits, 24 RBIs and 12 runs. She also has a 1.000 fielding percentage.
- Coach's Quote: "I am excited to bring Kalynn to Tucson because she is a great athlete and will help us tremendously both offensively and defensively," Pima softball coach Rebekah Quiroz said. "KK will be working behind the plate heavily and will also compete on the corners for us. She runs well and is as athletic as anyone I've seen. She is energetic, aggressive and versatile.
"KK will light a fire in this team and I look forward to watching her be a vocal leader as well as a tremendous asset for us with her aggressiveness," Quiroz added. "I can't wait to see how this kid develops at the next level with her already raw and explosive talent."
