The Pima Community College softball program added another local standout to its 2021-22 roster as Matilynn Goerke signed her letter of intent.
- Goerke, an outfielder from Sahuaro High School, has played in 56 career high school games for the Cougars with a .287 batting average. She produced 41 hits, 37 runs scored and 19 RBIs.
- Coach's Quote: "Mati is another versatile player that will contribute greatly in the outfield. She's got a cannon of an arm and covers a lot of ground," Pima softball coach Rebekah Quiroz said. "Mati is another local standout that has been mentored and coached by some great coaches here in Southern Arizona so I know she is prepared for the next level.
"She comes from a great family with a solid support system. I look forward to watching her compete with the other talent coming in and I have no doubt that she will rise to the occasion. I look forward to watching her athleticism on the base paths. Even though this kid always has a smile on her face, she is a fierce competitor."
