The Pima Community College softball program added power to its lineup as Stephanie Tapia signed her letter of intent to play for the Aztecs.

  • Tapia, an infielder from Cibola High School in Yuma, averaged .341 in 66 career games with 57 hits, 53 RBIs and 41 runs.
  • Coach's Quote: "Stephanie comes to us with a big bat and a solid glove. I expect her to be an immediate game-changer with her ability to hit the long ball consistently," Pima softball coach Rebekah Quiroz said. "Steph is a corner player but will fill any utility spot if needed. She swings it as well as anyone I've seen in Arizona and I am certain she will leave her mark offensively.
"She is surrounded by an amazing support system and I'm honored to be adding some Yuma family to our Aztec Family."
