Aztecs Cross Country takes part in Embry-Riddle Invitational

The Pima Community College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Embry-Riddle Invitational on Saturday in Prescott, AZ.

  • The men's team finished sixth in the team standings with a score of 140.
  • Freshman Reichen Cooke (Show Low HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs in the 8K (4.97 miles) race as he took 21st place with a time of 32 minutes, 12.0 seconds.
  • Freshman Gabriel Puelo took 26th place with a time of 33:43. Sophomore Zach Zobak placed 29th and crossed the finish line at 34:02.
  • Freshman Tony Trejo (Empire HS) closed out the race in 31st at 34:35 while freshman Sean Laura (Benson HS) was 33rd with a time of 36:38.
  • Sophomore Carolina Vega-Picos (Desert View HS) competed in the women's 5K (3.1 miles) race as she finished in 34th place with a time of 19:38.

The Aztecs will compete in the Paradise Valley Invitational on Friday at Sereno Park in Phoenix. The races begin at 8:00 a.m.
