Aztecs men's soccer continues hot streak in shutout win vs. Mesa CC

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (15-2) earned its fourth straight shutout victory and seventh straight win on Saturday at Kino North Grandstand.

  • The No. 4 ranked Aztecs defeated Mesa Community College 3-0.
  • Freshmen Itsuki Ishihara and Alec Nguyen (Sahuaro HS) along with sophomore Abraham Espinoza (Saguaro HS) scored the goals for the Aztecs. Pima netted two goals in the second half to take control.
  • The Aztecs' defense held the Thunderbirds (9-7-2) to two shots on goal for the game. Freshman Nils Roth finished the game with two saves.
  • The Aztecs swept the regular season meetings with the Thunderbirds. They won 1-0 last month in Mesa.

The Aztecs face a tough test on Tuesday when they play at Phoenix College. The teams will play in the night cap at 7:00 p.m.
