  • Golfer's Quote: "The experience was amazing going to Texas with this team and just having a goal of trying to win in mind, everyone was supportive of each other and pushing ourselves," Henely said. "My tee shots and approaches had been the best ever in a tournament this week. My putting was just letting me down until the back-nine of the second day, and I caught some fire from there.
"Watching the ceremony of the winning teams motivates me to want to see Pima there so bad. We know we have the capability to win, we just have to all come together for the four days. The drive to want to win and dominate as a team and individual is pretty strong and hopefully it carries throughout next year."
  • Freshman Max Krueger (Salpointe Catholic HS) tied for 45th place as he finished the tournament with a 296 (76-74-70-76).
  • Freshman Jay Shero shot a 2-over par 74 and produced a four-day total of 298 (78-76-70-74); putting him tied for 53rd.
  • Freshman Tommy Rosenvall shot a 314 (79-77-81-77). Freshman AJ Quihuis (Salpointe Catholic HS) closed out the final round with a 1-over par 73.
  • Coach's Quote: "This is a great team. This is a young team and they are hungry," Pima men's golf coach Marcus Smith said. "I'm extremely proud of the way they battled, obviously we had hoped for a better outcome but that's life. We know what it takes to win and we're gonna get back to the drawing board and begin our chase again. Our last dance."
  • It was Pima's best finish at the NJCAA National Championships since they took sixth place at the 2016 tournament. Henely's individual finish was the best ranking since Frankie Wu took sixth place during the 2016 NJCAA National Tournament.
  • The 2022 Aztecs claimed the NJCAA Region I, Division I Championship this season and produced five golfers on the All-Region team. Freshman Jay Shero won the NJCAA Region I, Division I Individual title.
